Learning to design
STARTING WITH SCIENCE
With a Bachelor and Master in Science (Physiology, Anatomy, Mathematics & Biomedical Communications) I had focused primarily on developing visual solutions to help convey novel concepts. Experiences include development of UI/UX course modules for Cellular & Physiological Sciences at the University of British Columbia, building a surgical lumbar simulator at the Vancouver General Hospital, eLearning UI flows + curriculum at the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto, medical illustration for non-invasive neurosurgery techniques at Sick Kids.
AS A VISUAL & SERVICE DESIGNER
To sum up my work, I tackle difficult concepts ranging from discrete customer touchpoints, service-level ambiguity, or organizational challenges. To do so, I develop visual solutions – whether that be through storyboarding, journey mapping, app design, or something else entirely. Recent projects as a service designer include the Government of Ontario (Ministry of Attorney General, MAESD), as well as organizations in teleco and finance.
