DESIGNING WITH SCIENCE

With a Bachelor and Master in Science (BSc Life Science & Mathematics; MSc Biomedical Communications) I had focused primarily on developing visual solutions to help convey novel concepts. The storytelling is just as important as the science, and I found myself designing various types of user flow. Experiences include development of UI/UX modules for Cellular & Physiological Sciences at the University of British Columbia, building a surgical lumbar simulator at the Vancouver General Hospital, eLearning UI flows at the Department of Physical Therapy in the University of Toronto, and medical illustrations for non-invasive neurosurgery techniques at Sick Kids.

Designing ui/ux

To sum up what I do, designing through an empathetic lens is integral to my work. Now, I tackle storytelling beyond human or biological systems: such as business challenges ranging from discrete customer touchpoints, service-level ambiguity, or organizational challenges. To do so, I develop visual solutions – whether that be through storyboarding, journey mapping, prototyping & testing, or something else entirely. With this toolbox, it’s been exciting diving into multiple sectors such as government, healthcare, retail, financial services, and telco.
